There are plenty of activities to keep you busy in Clatskanie, whether you're visiting for the day, the week, or a lifetime. For the outdoor enthusiast, the area offers kayaking, windsurfing, boating, fishing, hunting, and hiking. Clatskanie is a sportsman's paradise with deer, elk, and game birds flourishing in the area. Salmon, steelhead, and sturgeon fishing is close in the nearby Columbia River. Trout fishing is also a popular activity at Scout Lake and pan fish can be found in the dike land tidal waters.

The ocean beaches and mountain ski slopes are only a little over an hour's drive away.

Other enjoyable activities include scenic drives, walking and hiking, bike riding, community band and choir, skate park, baseball, softball, soccer, youth football, chess club, boy and girl scouts and after school activities sponsored by the Clatskanie Together Coalition. And of course, visiting points of interest such as the Flippin Castle, Clatskanie Museum, and the Lewis and Clark points of interest.
