There are plenty of activities to keep you busy in Clatskanie, whether you're visiting for the day, the week, or a lifetime. For the outdoor enthusiast, the area offers kayaking, windsurfing, boating, fishing, hunting, and hiking. Clatskanie is a sportsman's paradise with deer, elk, and game birds flourishing in the area. Salmon, steelhead, and sturgeon fishing is close in the nearby Columbia River. Trout fishing is also a popular activity at Scout Lake and pan fish can be found in the dike land tidal waters.
The ocean beaches and mountain ski slopes are only a little over an hour's drive away.
